जटाटवीगलज्जलप्रवाहपावितस्थले
गलेऽवलम्ब्य लम्बितां भुजङ्गतुङ्गमालिकाम् ।
डमड्डमड्डमड्डमन्निनादवड्डमर्वयं
चकार चण्डताण्डवं तनोतु नः शिवः शिवम् ॥ १ ॥

arth -
जिनके सघन जटारूपी वन से प्रवाहित होने वाली गंगाजल की पावन धाराओं से जिनका कंठस्थल पवित्र है, जिनके गले में विशाल सर्पों की माला लटक रही है, तथा जो डमरू के डम-डम निनाद के साथ प्रचंड तांडव नृत्य कर रहे हैं, वे भगवान शिव हमारा परम कल्याण करें।

meaning -
May Lord Shiva, whose neck is consecrated by the sacred flow of the celestial river Ganga emerging from his dense matted locks, who wears a magnificent garland of serpents around his neck, and who performs the fierce cosmic Tandava to the rhythmic resonance of the damaru, bestow auspiciousness upon us.

जटाकटाहसम्भ्रमभ्रमन्निलिम्पनिर्झरी-
-विलोलवीचिवल्लरीविराजमानमूर्धनि ।
धगद्धगद्धगज्ज्वलल्ललाटपट्टपावके
किशोरचन्द्रशेखरे रतिः प्रतिक्षणं मम ॥ २ ॥

arth -
जिनके जटारूपी कड़ाह में वेग से घूमती हुई देवनदी गंगा की चंचल लहरें सुशोभित हो रही हैं, जिनके मस्तक पर धक्-धक् जलती हुई प्रचंड अग्नि प्रज्वलित है, और जिनके शीश पर बाल-चंद्रमा विराजमान हैं, उन देवाधिदेव में मेरा मन प्रतिक्षण अनुरक्त रहे।

meaning -
May my mind find eternal delight in Lord Shiva, on whose forehead blazes a fiercely burning flame, upon whose head the crescent moon shines radiant, and within whose vast matted hair the swift waves of the divine river Ganga whirl in beauty.

धराधरेन्द्रनन्दिनीविलासबन्धुबन्धुर
स्फुरद्दिगन्तसन्ततिप्रमोदमानमानसे ।
कृपाकटाक्षधोरणीनिरुद्धदुर्धरापदि
क्वचिद्दिगम्बरे मनो विनोदमेतु वस्तुनि ॥ ३ ॥

arth -
पर्वतराज हिमालय की कन्या माता पार्वती के विलासमय कटाक्षों से जिनका मन प्रफुल्लित रहता है, जिनकी कृपादृष्टि मात्र से भक्तों की कठिन से कठिन विपत्तियाँ दूर हो जाती हैं, उन दिगंबर शिव में मेरा चित्त सदा आनंदमग्न रहे।

meaning -
May my heart rejoice in that omnipresent Lord, whose mind delights in the affectionate presence of Parvati (the daughter of the mountain king), whose compassionate gaze effortlessly dispels the most insurmountable afflictions of his devotees.

जटाभुजङ्गपिङ्गलस्फुरत्फणामणिप्रभा
कदम्बकुङ्कुमद्रवप्रलिप्तदिग्वधूमुखे ।
मदान्धसिन्धुरस्फुरत्त्वगुत्तरीयमेदुरे
मनो विनोदमद्भुतं बिभर्तु भूतभर्तरि ॥ ४ ॥

arth -
जिनकी जटाओं में लिपटे सर्पों की फणियों के मणियों की चमक दसों दिशाओं को कुमकुम के रंग से रंग देती है, तथा जो मतवाले हाथी की खाल का उत्तरीय वस्त्र धारण किए हुए हैं, उन समस्त भूतों के स्वामी भूतनाथ में मेरा मन अनुपम आनंद प्राप्त करे।

meaning -
May my consciousness find sublime joy in the Lord of all living beings, whose cosmic form is enveloped in the hide of an elephant, and the radiant gems upon the hoods of the serpents in his hair illuminate all directions with a divine saffron luster.

सहस्रलोचनप्रभृत्यशेषलेखशेखर-
-प्रसूनधूलिधोरणीविधूसराङ्घ्रिपीठभूः ।
भुजङ्गराजमालया निबद्धजाटजूटकः
श्रियै चिराय जायतां चकोरबन्धुशेखरः ॥ ५ ॥

arth -
इंद्र आदि समस्त देवताओं के मस्तक पर सुशोभित पुष्पों की पराग-धूलि से जिनके चरणकमल धूसरित होते हैं, तथा जिनके शीश पर सर्पराज की माला और चंद्रमा विराजमान हैं, वे भगवान शिव हमें चिरकाल के लिए अखंड ऐश्वर्य और कल्याण प्रदान करें।

meaning -
May Lord Shiva, whose lotus feet are adored by the pollen falling from the floral garlands worn by Indra and all celestials, and whose locks are bound by the serpent king and crowned by the soothing crescent moon, grant us eternal prosperity and spiritual wealth.

ललाटचत्वरज्वलद्धनञ्जयस्फुलिङ्गभा-
-निपीतपञ्चसायकं नमन्निलिम्पनायकम् ।
सुधामयूखलेखया विराजमानशेखरं
महाकपालिसम्पदेशिरोजटालमस्तु नः ॥ ६ ॥

arth -
जिनके ललाट की धधकती अग्नि के स्फुलिंगों ने कामदेव को भस्म कर दिया, जिन्हें देवराज इंद्र भी नतमस्तक होकर प्रणाम करते हैं, तथा जो अमृतमयी चंद्रमा की कला से सुशोभित हैं, वे जटाधारी महाकपाली शिव हमें समस्त आध्यात्मिक संपदा प्रदान करें।

meaning -
May Lord Shiva, who consumed Kamadeva (the god of desire) with the blazing sparks of his third eye, who is revered by the king of gods, and whose brow is adorned with the cooling nectar of the crescent moon, bestow upon us supreme divine treasures.

करालभालपट्टिकाधगद्धगद्धगज्ज्वल-
-द्धनञ्जयाहुतीकृतप्रचण्डपञ्चसायके ।
धराधरेन्द्रनन्दिनीकुचाग्रचित्रपत्रक-
-प्रकल्पनैकशिल्पिनि त्रिलोचने रतिर्मम ॥ ७ ॥

arth -
जिनके विशाल ललाट पर धधकती अग्नि में कामदेव की आहुति पड़ गई, तथा जो गिरिराज किशोरी पार्वती के सौंदर्य के एकमात्र अनुरागी शिल्पी हैं, उन त्रिनेत्रधारी देवाधिदेव शिव में मेरा अनन्य प्रेम सदा बना रहे।

meaning -
May my devotion be forever anchored in the three-eyed Lord, whose radiant forehead consumed the arrows of passionate desire in its sacrificial fire, and who is the celestial artist adorning Mother Parvati with supreme devotion and love.

नवीनमेघमण्डलीनिरुद्धदुर्धरस्फुरत्-
-कुहूनिशीथिनीतमःप्रबन्धबद्धकन्धरः ।
निलिम्पनिर्झरीधरस्तनोतु कृत्तिसिन्धुरः
कलानिधानबन्धुरः श्रियं जगद्धुरन्धरः ॥ ८ ॥

arth -
अमावस्या की आधी रात में नवीन बादलों की तरह जिनका कंठ नीलवर्ण से आवृत है, जो गंगाजी को धारण करने वाले हैं, हाथी की खाल पहनने वाले और चंद्रमा की कलाओं से सुशोभित हैं, वे संसार का भार धारण करने वाले शिव हमारा ऐश्वर्य बढ़ाएं।

meaning -
May that supreme sustainer of the cosmos, whose neck bears the dark blue hue of midnight rainclouds, who holds the celestial river Ganga, who wears the elephant hide and is adorned with the repository of arts (the moon), expand our spiritual and worldly prosperity.

प्रफुल्लनीलपङ्कजप्रपञ्चकालिमप्रभा-
-वलम्बिकण्ठकन्दलीरुचिप्रबद्धकन्धरम् ।
स्मरच्छिदं पुरच्छिदं भवच्छिदं मखच्छिदं
गजच्छिदान्धकच्छिदं तमन्तकच्छिदं भजे ॥ ९ ॥

arth -
खिले हुए नीलकमल के समान सुंदर नीले कंठ वाले, कामदेव का नाश करने वाले, त्रिपुर का संहार करने वाले, भवबंधन को काटने वाले, दक्ष के यज्ञ का विध्वंस करने वाले, गजासुर और अंधकासुर को मारने वाले तथा स्वयं यमराज को दंडित करने वाले कालान्तक शिव का मैं भजन करता हूँ।

meaning -
I worship Lord Shiva, whose graceful neck shines with the deep blue splendor of a blossoming blue lotus; who conquered Kamadeva, shattered the three demonic cities of Tripura, destroyed worldly bondage, annulled Daksha's sacrifice, subdued the elephant-demon Gajasura, vanquished Andhaka, and triumphed over death itself.

अखर्वसर्वमङ्गलाकलाकदम्बमञजरी-
-रसप्रवाहमाधुरीविजृम्भणामधुव्रतम् ।
स्मरान्तकं पुरान्तकं भवान्तकं मखान्तकं
गजान्तकान्धकान्तकं तमन्तकान्तकं भजे ॥ १० ॥

arth -
जो सर्वमंगला माता पार्वती के संपूर्ण कला-समूह की मंजरी के मकरंद रस का आस्वादन करने वाले भौंरे के समान हैं, कामदेव, त्रिपुर, संसार-दुःख, दक्ष-यज्ञ, गजासुर, अंधकासुर और मृत्यु के संहारक उन मृत्युंजय भगवान शिव को मैं भजता हूँ।

meaning -
I adore Lord Shiva, who like a honeybee savors the sweet nectar flowing from the auspicious blossom of Goddess Parvati's divine virtues; the destroyer of lust, the demolisher of Tripura, the deliverer from mortal bondage, and the conqueror of Yama (death).

जयत्वदभ्रविभ्रमभ्रमद्भुजङ्गमश्वस-
-द्विनिर्गमत्क्रमस्फुरत्करालभालहव्यवाट् ।
धिमिद्धिमिद्धिमिध्वनन्मृदङ्गतुङ्गमङ्गल-
-ध्वनिक्रमप्रवर्तितप्रचण्डताण्डवः शिवः ॥ ११ ॥

arth -
मस्तक पर तीव्रता से घूमते हुए सर्पों की फुंकार से जिनके ललाट की अग्नि और अधिक प्रदीप्त हो उठती है, और मृदंग की धीमी-धीमी मंगलकारी ध्वनि के साथ जो प्रचंड तांडव नृत्य कर रहे हैं, उन देवाधिदेव भगवान शिव की जय हो! जय हो!

meaning -
All glory to Lord Shiva, whose third eye burns fiercely, stoked by the hissing breaths of the serpents twirling upon his brow, and who executes his awe-inspiring cosmic dance to the thunderous and auspicious cadence of the celestial mridangam!

दृषद्विचित्रतल्पयोर्भुजङ्गमौक्तिकस्रजो-
-र्गरिष्ठरत्नलोष्ठयोः सुहृद्विपक्षपक्षयोः ।
तृणारविन्दचक्षुषोः प्रजामहीमहेन्द्रयोः
समप्रवृत्तिकः कदा सदाशिवं भजाम्यहम् ॥ १२ ॥

arth -
कठोर पत्थर और कोमल शय्या में, सर्प और मोतियों की माला में, बहुमूल्य रत्न और मिट्टी के ढेले में, मित्र और शत्रु में, तृण और कमल नयन में, तथा साधारण प्रजा और सम्राट में—समान दृष्टि रखते हुए मैं कब सदाशिव का अनन्य भजन कर सकूँगा?

meaning -
When shall I attain that equanimity of mind where stone and soft bed, serpent and pearl necklace, precious diamond and clod of dirt, friend and foe, blade of grass and lotus eye, humble citizen and mighty emperor appear completely equal, and worship Lord Sadashiva with an undisturbed heart?

कदा निलिम्पनिर्झरीनिकुञ्जकोटरे वसन्
विमुक्तदुर्मतिः सदा शिरःस्थमञ्जलिं वहन् ।
विलोललोललोचनो ललामभाललग्नकः
शिवेति मन्त्रमुच्चरन् कदा सुखी भवाम्यहम् ॥ १३ ॥

arth -
कब मैं सुरसरि गंगा के तट पर लता-कुंजों में वास करते हुए, समस्त कुविचारों से मुक्त होकर, मस्तक पर हाथ जोड़े हुए, शिव-शिव महामंत्र का निरंतर उच्चारण करता हुआ परम सुख और शांति को प्राप्त करूँगा?

meaning -
When will I reside in a serene hermitage on the banks of the sacred river Ganga, freed from all delusions, with folded hands held in reverence above my head, constantly uttering the divine mantra 'Shiva, Shiva', and attain supreme spiritual liberation and bliss?

इमं हि नित्यमेवमुक्तमुत्तमोत्तमं स्तवं
पठन्स्मरन्ब्रुवन्नरो विशुद्धिमेति सन्ततम् ।
हरे गुरौ सुभक्तिमाशु याति नान्यथा गतिं
विमोहनं हि देहिनां सुशङ्करस्य चिन्तनम् ॥ १४ ॥

arth -
इस उत्तमोत्तम स्तोत्र का जो मनुष्य नित्य पाठ, स्मरण अथवा श्रवण करता है, वह निरंतर परम पवित्रता को प्राप्त करता है। उसे भगवान शिव और गुरुदेव में अनन्य भक्ति प्राप्त होती है, और वह समस्त मोह-माया से छूटकर शिव-धाम को प्राप्त करता है।

meaning -
Whoever recites, meditates upon, or listens to this supreme hymn daily is continually purified. They quickly attain unwavering devotion unto Lord Shiva and the Guru, and transcend all worldly delusions, for contemplation of Lord Shankara is the supreme liberator of embodied souls.

पूजावसानसमये दशवक्त्रगीतं
यः शम्भुपूजनपरं पठति प्रदोषे ।
तस्य स्थिरां रथगजेन्द्रतुरङ्गयुक्तां
लक्ष्मीं सदैव सुमुखीं प्रददाति शम्भुः ॥ १५ ॥

arth -
दशानन रावण द्वारा रचित इस स्तोत्र का जो मनुष्य शिव-पूजा के समापन पर सायंकाल (प्रदोष काल) में पाठ करता है, भगवान शिव उसे रथ, हाथी, घोड़ों से युक्त स्थिर लक्ष्मी और अखंड ऐश्वर्य सदैव प्रदान करते हैं।

meaning -
Whoever chants this hymn composed by the ten-headed Ravana at the conclusion of Lord Shiva's worship during the evening twilight (Pradosha), unto him Lord Shambhu bestows everlasting prosperity, vehicles, spiritual wealth, and abiding grace.
